Project Management Fundamentals

  • The discipline and profession of project management (w/ PMP framework)
  • To address the role of the project manager (The Art and Science)
  • How to build and manage a successful project team and organization
  • To assess approaches of structuring organizations (i.e. PMO)
  • To develop a strategic business perspective of the management of projects
  • Project Management Approaches - SDLC & Agile Development Methodology
  • Project Process Groups (Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring\Controlling and Closing) - Concepts from the Project Management Professional (PMP)

Strategic Management

  • Identify and analyze project risks and develop contingency plans for those risks
  • The “Human Side” of project management – the People!
  • Analyze the impact of variability in project tasks and plans
  • Apply quantitative measures of project progress and tracking
  • Business Process Improvement - Waste, optimization and business value
  • Application of Lean Six Sigma Concepts (DMAIC) & Lean Thinking

Analytics and Tools

  • Introduce innovative frameworks, concepts and tools available for strategically managing projects in organizations
