How to Apply & Admission Requirements

How to Apply:

All students apply through the main Graduate Admissions portal. Select from 3 program names and then the desired concentration:  Business and Science-Computer & Information Sciences, Engineering Management, or Life Sciences. Concentrations are available on different campuses, please check with the concentration to see which campus it is offered on. Some are offered on more than one campus, and some have courses that share different campuses.

Online Application Portal

Applications to the Master of Business & Science program are accepted year round. Courses are offered during the Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer sessions.

Application deadlines:

*Fall:

US/Permanent Resident Students: June 1st
International Students: April 1st

BS/MBS Students: May 15th

*Spring:

US/Permanent Resident Students: November 15th
International  Students:  October 1st

BS/MBS Students: November 15th

*Summer: 

Domestic Students only : March 1st

 

General Admission Requirements for the MBS: Each science concentration has different admission requirements and those are listed under the science concentration. At a minimum, requirements for the MBS include:

  • A bachelors degree with a science/math/engr major from an accredited university, and a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Official Transcripts (Scanned copies WILL NOT be accepted. Transcripts must be sealed and sent to the graduate admissions office at the time of applying. *All international students MUST have their entire transcripts translated and evaluated by WES (other accredited companies may be used - no exceptions on evaluations.The original sealed transcripts from the university are not required.)
  •     A TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or IELTS (International English Language Testing System) test score is required if your undergraduate education was completed in a non-English speaking country.:
    • The minimum paper-based TOEFL score is 550. The minimum computer-based TOEFL score is 213.
    • The minimum IBT-internet based TOEFL is Writing 22, Speaking 23, Reading 21, Listening 17.
    • An acceptable IELTS score is bandwidth 7
  • GRE exam (may be waived with 5 yrs U.S work experience post U.S. bachelors. Please contact us for more information or to request a GRE waiver: Contact Us)
  • We use three factors in determining admission: GRE, GPA(undergrad), and Work Experience. While work experience is not mandatory for admission (except for the engineering management concentration), we do take it  under consideration.
  • 2 letters of recommendation
  • Personal statement.
  • Resume

  • Prospective applicants with an MBA or PhD do not have to take the GRE  for certain concentrations. Set up a meeting with an advisor for further details.

  • Students MUST send all of their supporting documentation (transcripts, etc) to the respective campus in which they are applying to.
  • Your application will not be complete without ALL necessary documents.
  • GRE Scores & GPA requirements vary for each concentration.
  • For your personal statement, please provide us with some background information about yourself and why you would be interested in pursuing the Master of Business and Science Degree. How will this degree benefit you as an individual and in your professional career? (All students must submit a personal statement)

Master of Business and Science Non-Degree Applicants

This option is open to only those students who are interested in eventually pursuing the MBS degree but may not have all the requirements ready at the time of application (e.g. letters of recommendation, GREs) and would like to start taking courses.

This option is not available to international students (No Visas can be sponsored for this).

If an applicant has earned their Baccalaureate degree from an institution other than that in the USA, then the applicant may be subject to take the GREs even for a non-degree admission to the program as per the discretion of the program director.
