The advanced data analytics practicum course in particular was very useful for students to gain professional experience because it allowed us to partner with companies to work on big data analytic projects involving real data to solve specific business problems. Through this project, our team had the opportunity to work with the data analytics team in Janssen Pharmaceuticals to predict the time, resource and cost of drug development projects. Not only did we gain valuable insights about the drug development process in the pharmaceutical industry, we also got to present our results at the Janssen office in Raritan and met with professional leaders from various departments to share our findings.
