Course Description:

 This course provides an introductory overview to the science of organizing and structuring-- for optimized user experience--content for information spaces on websites, mobile devices, apps, and more. Students will examine systematic methods and processes relating to analyzing, designing, and evaluating information spaces in relation to user experience.

Course Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

1. Examine the various Information Architecture tools, techniques and methods

2. Identity and evaluate the important information Architecture strategies

3. Understand and apply the basic principles of user-centered design and usability testing

4. Critically analyze and design organization, labeling, navigation, search system for web/mobile based interfaces

5. Produce documentations such as personas, site maps, wireframes, interactive prototypes, etc.

6. Create professional level Information Architecture design report incorporating all the deliverables
