In this interactive session, Annette van der Feltz of Expatriate Assistance will discuss why diversity can be either an asset or a liability to well functioning teams, how managers can harness the power of diverse teams and how to develop intercultural sensitivity, a skill which will help managers bridge differences and create valuable connections.
Study after study have shown that diverse teams are more productive, creative and innovative. In fact, McKinsey’s “Diversity Matters” report concluded that “Companies in the top quartile for racial and ethnic diversity are 35 percent more likely to have financial returns above their respective national industry median.”
Whether a team is ethnically, culturally, or generationally diverse (to name a few), the real challenge in diverse organizations is not the people or parts, it is in the connections*.
