At Rutgers Professional Science Master's Program, we're adapting to the current COVID-19 pandemic by moving all of our courses online. Our faculty and staff continue to support our students, alumni, and applicants.

Due to the ongoing restrictions due to COVID-19, we have made the following changes for our application requirements:

Domestic Applicants (US Citizens and Permanent Residents)

  • GRE score waiver. In lieu of GRE test scores, applicants need to download and fill out an additional questionnaire. This form needs to be submitted in addition to a complete application. We also strongly urge you to set up an advising appointment with Dr. Murphy, Dr. Silver, or Vicki Pasigos for questions regarding application requirements
  • Official transcripts can be sent electronically

International Applicants

  • GRE scores are waived for Fall 2020 applications
  • TOEFL scores are waived for Fall 2020 applications
  • If you cannot obtain a WES or ECE translation, we will temporarily accept a transcript but it must be in English. Applicants who are unable to obtain WES or ECE translation and are uploading an electronic copy of their English transcripts should contact us for next steps.
  • More information for international applications can be found on our FAQ page and Rutgers Global Services
  • Please fill out this additional questionnaire
  • International applicants may be asked to participate in a virtual interview with an MBS Admissions Committee member. A member of our admissions staff will notify you and assist with scheduling your interview if requested by the committee.

Our staff continues to support you. Please contact us via email or make an advising appointment using this link.

Transferring Credits

Degree applicants can apply to transfer up to 12 credits from graduate courses completed at another accredited university, with a grade of B or better, provided they are equivalent to the courses in the MBS degree program, AND credit for these courses was not used to earn a previous undergraduate degree. Acceptance for credit towards the MBS degree is subject to approval by the PSM Program Director and is not automatic. (Please note, we do not accept transfer from many international universities.) Read more about transferring credits here.

Admissions Requirements

This page outlines the modified, general application requirements due to Covid-19. Applicants need to submit a completed application package to be considered for admission, which should include:

  • Completed Office of Graduate Admissions application form (online only). Incomplete applications will not be considered for admission.
  • Application fee (online only). We're currently waiving application fee for domestic applicants.
  • Official transcripts sent if the applicant's institution is sending official transcripts. If applicant is using unofficial transcripts, they need to be uploaded along with other supporting materials as part of the online application. We require that applicants have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Most concentrations require a science/math/engineering (STEM) major, however, non-STEM applicants are eligible to apply for some concentrations. Please check your concentration page for more details. A list of all our available concentrations can be found here.
  • Two letters of recommendation (online form email request)
  • Personal statement
  • Resume
  • Please fill out this additional questionnaire
