MBS Alumni Strengthen Connections at Annual Brewery Gathering

The Rutgers Master of Business and Science (MBS) degree program welcomed alumni, faculty, staff, and their families for its annual MBS Alumni & Family Brewery Gathering on June 18. Held at the scenic Readington Brewery and Hop Farm in Readington, New Jersey, the event offered members of the MBS community an opportunity to reconnect, strengthen professional relationships, and enjoy an evening together outside the classroom.

This brewery is owned and co-founded by Braun Kiess, instructor of the MBS course “Principles of Accounting and Finance” and MBS Alumni Engagement Specialist. Alumni had the chance to catch up with former classmates, meet fellow graduates, and connect with current faculty and staff while enjoying dinner, beverages, and the brewery's setting. Readington Brewery offers a scenic background, including a playground for children, goats, lawn games, and picnic tables.

Attendees heard from Kiess and Abbe Rosenthal, MBS Assistant Director and Executive Coach, about the value of the alumni community. They highlighted our alumni-exclusive platform, Graduway, where MBS alumni can connect with one another, explore job opportunities, and stay informed about upcoming events

Kiess also led a behind-the-scenes tour of the brewery, showcasing how its beverages are crafted.

Throughout the evening, conversations reflected the diverse paths MBS alumni have taken since graduation. Longstanding friendships were renewed, and new connections were formed—some of which led to new professional opportunities. Attendees even included a pair of brothers who are both MBS alumni.

The annual brewery gathering has become a valued tradition within the MBS community. Thank you to all alumni who attended—and thank you to Readington Brewery and Hop Farm for hosting an unforgettable mixer!
