Detailed Application Instructions

1. Before starting your application, please review additional admission requirements on the concentration page of your interest. A list of concentrations can be found here.
2. Visit http://gradstudy.rutgers.edu/apply/apply-now
3. Create a CommunityID
4. Once you’ve logged into the application portal, on the bottom left, click the “Start Application” button
5. After you complete your background information, you will then go to the portion of your application called “Program of Study”
6. For "Applicant Type": Choose “Degree”
7. For “Degree Type”: Choose “Master’s (e.g. MA, MS, EdM, MFA)”
8. For “Area of Study”: Choose “Business and Science”
9. For “Location/Instructional Method”, choose one of the following:
   1. “Camden”
   2. “New Brunswick”
   3. “Newark”
10. Select your desired program (Computer and Information Sciences, Life Sciences, Engineering) and concentration and continue with the application

Students must meet the following criteria to be considered:

• Apply in the second semester of their junior year
• Have a minimum GPA of 3.3 upon submission of the application
• Short essay (minimum 500 words) describing how the MBS degree will help you achieve your career goals
• Complete 90 credits by the end of their sixth semester
• Submit an official copy of their transcripts
• Submit one (1) letter of recommendation from a professor in their major
• Submit a current resume
• Qualified applicants will be contacted to schedule an interview.

How do I apply?

4. In the first section, "Application Selection", for "Level of Application" select "Graduate"
5. After you complete your background information, you will then go to the portion of your application called “Program of Study”
6. For "Applicant Type": Choose “Degree”
7. For “Degree Type”: Choose “5 Year Master’s (e.g. BA/MA, BS/MS, EdM Teacher Ed)"
8. For “Area of Study”: Choose “Business and Science”
9. For “Location/Instructional Method”, choose one of the following:
   1. “Camden”
   2. “New Brunswick”
   3. “Newark”
10. Select your desired program (Computer and Information Sciences, Life Sciences, Engineering) and concentration and continue with the application

Is this option right for me?

This option is open to only those students who are interested in eventually pursuing the MBS degree but may not have all the requirements ready at the time of application (e.g. letters of recommendation) and would like to start taking courses

If you are on an F1 or J1 visa, you are not eligible for part-time non-degree study
