MBS Café: Preparing for the job market

The speaker for this webinar is Laura McCracken. Laura is a User Experience Design Leader with over 20 years of expertise in guiding software product design teams, focusing on shifting from feature-centered to human-centered design.


As Sr. Manager of XD at Johnson & Johnson for the past 2 years, she integrates XD professionals into agile High-Performance Teams across Healthcare Compliance, Quality Compliance and Labs, aligning with the organization’s vision to deliver human-centered design solutions that enhance user experience and meet business objectives.


Before joining J&J, Laura spent 14 years at Educational Testing Service (ETS), where she built and led a 30-person XD team from the ground up, supporting B2B and B2C web applications. She spearheaded product strategies, UX/UI design, and developed ETS's corporate Design System to ensure consistency across multiple projects. Prior to ETS, she founded and directed Studio Influx LLC, a creative agency that provided UX strategy and design services.


Laura completed her MBS in User Experience Design from Rutgers University in 2024 and holds a BFA in Digital Art from The College of New Jersey. She is certified in User Experience Design and has been recognized with several awards for her contributions to design and leadership. A passionate advocate for inclusive leadership, she emphasizes team building and fostering collaboration across all levels.
