Description

Learn the basics of all areas of personal care including skincare formulation, hair care science, polymer, humectant, cosmetic actives, regulatory concerns, and marketing strategies. Research products currently in the marketplace and attempt to back-formulate them. Examine how to create personal care products from just an idea through market launch.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Examine the underlying chemistry of creating personal care products
  • Analyze a product off the shelf and create a starting formula from the ingredients list
  • Review the terminology used in Personal Care
  • Recognize and explain active ingredients in a formula
