Building Connections Beyond the Classroom: MBS Happy Hour

On Thursday, April 16, 2026, the Master of Business and Science (MBS) degree program hosted a Happy Hour for MBS students and alumni of all concentrations. This event brought together the MBS community, creating an opportunity for interdisciplinary networking and community building. Dr. Jay Goldring, MBS Assistant Professor, also joined the evening to mingle.

With food, drinks, music, and the artistic backdrop of Zimmerli Art Museum, one of the largest and most distinguished university-based museums in the country, this was the perfect environment to relax and connect before finals. Students caught up with their classmates, met new friends, and expanded their networks beyond their own concentrations.

Interdisciplinary connections help students explore perspectives beyond their primary field, which is especially useful for those looking to pivot. By engaging with peers from different concentrations, they can stay updated on trends and practices in other domains while discovering new career possibilities.

At the core of MBS is the mission to help students excel professionally, and this includes providing them with opportunities to network and build relationships that last. Events like these highlight that while academic success is important, taking time to connect with others and build relationships is equally valuable for personal and professional growth.
