Two MBS students and three recent graduates have been awarded scholarships for their communications and social media work with the New York chapter of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists (NYSCC). Initially partnering four years ago through the Rutgers Master of Business and Science (MBS) program’s Externship Exchange, the MBS-NYSCC relationship has continued to provide students in MBS’s personal care science concentration the opportunity to gain industry experience while supporting NYSCC's mission of advancing cosmetic science.

The 2021 NYSCC Social Media Scholarship recipients are as follows:

The largest chapter in the Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC), the NYSCC also organizes a major, annual industry event—what has been called “North America’s most important ingredient event”—NYSCC Suppliers’ Day, which is traditionally held in New York City's Javits Center (last year, it was virtual) and is very well attended by MBS students, faculty, and alumni.

“The students volunteer to be on the Social Media team for the opportunity to contribute to the industry, as well as to learn and grow both personally and professionally,” says Abbe Rosenthal, Assistant Director and Executive Coach. “The scholarship awards were an unexpected but welcomed surprise, particularly given such a challenging year. We look forward to continuing our relationship with the NYSCC and supporting such an amazing organization."
