Welcome, new MBS students, to an exciting semester! In addition to our in-person welcome, we invited students to join us virtually and begin their MBS journey.

The Rutgers Professional Science Master’s program has grown since our inception in 2010. Our number of concentrations, students, and faculty has increased tremendously. All the while, we have remained committed to our mission of serving the needs of science-based professionals.

Our virtual welcome featured PSM Executive Director Deborah Silver, Assistant Professor of Professional Practice and Life Sciences Coordinator Beth Murphy, MBS Executive Coach and Assistant Director Abbe Rosenthal, and MBS Executive Coach and Instructor Kathleen Cashman.

Through breakout rooms, new students got to meet one another and share about themselves using “I am” statements. They also learned about all that MBS offers to set students up for success and got a taste of our cherished method of Odyssey planning.

Students were also led in a professional exercise to evaluate their current KSAOs, or knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics, and list KSAOs to help them meet their future goals—mapping how MBS courses, experiences, and other offerings can help them achieve their goals.

They were joined by MBS advisors, staff, and alumni for advice, guidance, and mingling.
