How do I apply?
- Before starting your application, please review additional admission requirements on the concentration page of your interest. A list of concentrations can be found here.
- Visit http://gradstudy.rutgers.edu/apply/apply-now
- Create a CommunityID
- Once you’ve logged into the application portal, on the bottom left, click the “Start Application” button
- After you complete your background information, you will then go to the portion of your application called “Program of Study”
- For "Applicant Type": Choose “Degree”
- For “Degree Type”: Choose “Master’s (e.g. MA, MS, EdM, MFA)”
- For “Area of Study”: Choose “Business and Science”
- For “Location/Instructional Method”, choose one of the following:
- “Camden”
- “New Brunswick”
- “Newark”
- Select your desired program (Computer and Information Sciences, Life Sciences, Engineering) and concentration and continue with the application
Application Requirements
Upload your updated resume in the application portal
- Upload your personal statement (~500 words) in the application portal.
- Your personal statement should detail your reasons for pursuing the Master of Business and Science degree from Rutgers University; your short-term and long-term career plans; and how your background, experience, interests, and/or values, when combined with a MBS degree, will enable you to pursue these goals successfully.
- Transcripts must be sealed and sent to the graduate admissions office at the time of applying.
- Click here for a list of campus addresses, though applicants are encouraged to reach out to their universities to find out if they can submit electronic official transcripts as opposed to regular mail for a quicker turnaround. Universities can send official electronic transcripts to the Rutgers Graduate & Professional Admissions office: e-transcripts@gradadm.rutgers.edu
- For transcripts from institutions outside of the United States, students must submit a course-by-course credential evaluation through WES or ECE to Graduate Admissions.
Request two letters of recommendation (either academic or professional) in the application portal.
- All international applicants must submit translated and evaluated (course by course) transcripts through WES or ECE. If a WES or ECE is submitted, your original (untranslated) transcripts are not required.
- A TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or IELTS (International English Language Testing System) test score is required if your undergraduate education was completed in a non-English speaking country:
- The minimum TOEFL scores are 550 (paper-based) or 213 (computer-based)
- The minimum IBT internet-based TOEFL scores: writing 22, speaking 23, reading 21, listening 17
- An acceptable IELTS score is bandwidth 7
- Test scores should be sent to Rutgers School Code: 2790
