On Wednesday, April 8, 2020, Dr. Paul Takhistov from the Department of Food Science at Rutgers led a discussion regarding food safety, food availability, and biosecurity in light of COVID-19—an issue that MBS students had identified as a major concern and/or interest via a survey in the March 2020 MBS Community Connectivity Initiative.

Finding our Inner Strength: Mindfulness Coaching

MBS students were taken through a journey of mindful breathing, positive affirmations, and calmness as they attended the two-part virtual Mindful Coaching session led by Susan Favale, owner of Honor Yoga in North Brunswick, on March 25, 2020, and March 31, 2020, respectively. Amidst the current unprecedented times, these sessions helped students reinforce self-love, inner strength, and positive thinking.

A Home Office for the Long Haul

Whether you’re used to working remotely or you’ve never worked from home (WFH) in your life, most of us are now “home” indefinitely, and are faced with a sudden, twofold challenge: (1.) working productively from home, and (2.) separating “work life” from “home life” during a time when people, by and large, are not leaving their houses.
