On Friday, February 26, 2021, I had the pleasure of moderating a panel for Rutgers Professional Science Master's Program on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) as it relates to STEM professionals.

As February is Black History Month, it is important to me that we share the stories of Black professionals specifically. The challenges that Black employees face in the workplace are seldom heard. We had a dynamic conversation about how it feels to constantly be the "other.”

90 minutes to Navigate, Collaborate, and Network

Where else can you go to meet and mingle with STEM-industry leaders, engage in discussions that have real meaning, and come away with new insights about real-time industry challenges?  Where else can you hear experts share how they navigate these challenges? And where else can you walk away with strategies, action items, and insights that you can immediately employ and apply to your own work?

This excellent reminder comes from Ryan Holmes, Chairman and Co-founder at Hootsuite, whose LinkedIn post, reprinted here, looked at the most in-demand skills for 2021:

The year 2020, and the COVID-19 pandemic that defined it, will go down in history as one of the most pivotal, life-altering time-periods, ever—one that was universally and equally devastating, and one that will likely change for good the way we communicate, learn, and work.

There were, of course, some silver linings, and there were also moments of levity that made some of the tougher times more bearable.

Time Management During a Crisis

On Tuesday, November 17, 2020, MBS students had the opportunity to hear MBS assistant director and executive coach Abbe Rosenthal, MA, PCC, share some incredibly valuable tips for how students can structure their LinkedIn profiles to increase their visibility and marketability. During the session, students were able to explore each element of their existing LinkedIn profiles to see which areas needed improvement.
