The Spring 2026 Capstone Retreat challenged students to think expansively, evaluate critically, and collaborate across disciplines. Over two days, Master of Business and Science (MBS) students in the course, “Science and Technology Management Capstone,” gathered on campus for team-building activities, workshops, and a field trip to a site of innovation—Thomas Edison National Historical Park in West Orange, New Jersey.
At the Master of Business and Science (MBS) degree program, industry needs and partnerships are embedded into the fabric of our program. We ensure our curriculum stays up to date with industry trends to prepare students for the modern workforce. Many of our courses are taught by instructors with industry expertise, and we regularly update our courses based on workforce trends.
On February 6, 2026, Master of Business and Science (MBS) students gathered for a Virtual Friday Student Huddle! This was an interactive session focused on connecting with peers, academic success, and career readiness.
On January 30, 2026, MBS students were invited to attend the Career Fair Prep: Virtual Friday workshop on Zoom, where Assistant Director and Executive Coach Abbe Rosenthal guided participants in building strong, confident pitches for recruiters and employers.
Say hello to the newest Master of Business and Science (MBS) degree students! On January 30th, we welcomed new MBS students to the spring 2026 semester at the Rutgers Lifelong Learning Center. This event brought together incoming students, faculty, and staff to kick off the semester and introduced the resources, experiences, and community that define the program. The session focused on helping students clarify their goals, connect with peers, and understand how the MBS degree supports their path from who they are today to who they want to become in the future.
We hosted a holiday party at the Rutgers Club in December for our students, but the fun didn’t stop there! On January 13th, we hosted an online holiday celebration.

On December 11th and 12th, over 100 students in our course, “Capstone,” presented their business ideas to a panel of judges. This year, presentations were held at the SERC building and brought together students, faculty, and judges for a series of immersive, real-world business presentations. Presentations, facilitated by lead instructor Tom Bryant, were conducted in a hybrid format, with some teams presenting entirely in-person, online, or a combination of both.

Members of the MBS community gathered on December 8th for a festive celebration at the Rutgers Club. The event brought together students, faculty, staff, and alumni for an evening of great food, music, and connections as the semester came to a close.
Attendees were treated to a festive photobooth, where they could take home photos!
The "Cosmetic Quality, Safety and Global Regulation" course within the Rutgers Master of Business and Science (MBS) degree program combines classroom learning with real-world exposure to roles within the industry. The course provides students with a practical understanding of how regulatory, safety, and quality functions operate across the cosmetics industry.
