On Friday, June 29th, MBS students in the course Fundamentals of Intellectual Property took a trip to visit the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Located in the beautiful town of Alexandria, Virginia, the USPTO is the federal agency for granting U.S. patents and registering trademarks.
At the Professional Science Master’s program, we encourage our alumni to stay connected long after graduation. Last week, we invited our alumni to join us at the beautiful Readington Brewery and Hop Farm located on US Highway 202 for a night of fun.

Professor Larry Horowitz, instructor of the core MBS course Principles of Accounting and Finance for Science and Technology Management, has extensive experience as a life-sciences senior executive and consultant that he brings to the classroom.

The MBS Externship Exchange program offers students the opportunity to gain work experience by tackling corporate-sponsored small projects under the guidance of a mentor.
Students in the Professional Science Master’s program end their journey by completing a capstone project. In this project, students choose a science-derived intellectual property (IP) and develop a business plan to take this IP to market. The capstone serves as a reflection of the MBS degree, requiring students to use both the science and business skills that they have learned throughout the course of the program.
The New York Society of Cosmetic Chemists, the premier professional association for the cosmetics and personal care sector in the New York tri-state area, hosted Suppliers’ Day in New York City. The event, which took place May 2-3 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center, is the premier industry event in North America.
